bags and bags of milk

for those of you who saw past the big truck of potato chips and wondered about the 'bag milk' on the sign...
it seems to be a peculiarly, though not exclusively, Ontario way of selling milk. 4 litres in three bags.
and the bags are great for reuse as freezer bags.

Ah yes, this was one of the most confusing things to us when we first moved to Canada. Luckily we figured it out, took awhile though!

Thanks for showing the milk bags. Thinking about it, I would think restaurants probably use that here. I've just never seen it for sale to the general public.

I'll be around after work tonight to comment on everyone's posts.

Thanks for hosting. :-)

Does it taste fresher? One would have to have a pitcher for the milk then. And be very careful in pouring!

I have never seen this! Certainly bright graphics! And opening it could be a challenge!

It truly is confusing to newcomers. :))

Seems like a great idea of selling milk!
Thanks for hosting, Lesley.

I just returned from Yosemite and saw wine packaged in mylar bags. Not the big "bag in a box" but half liter and liter size. I bet it's popular with backpackers.

We have bags of milk here in Israel too - it was one of the hardest things for me to get used to! But my Canadian friends had no trouble!
Now in recent years they've been using cartons, too - and my Israeli friends have a hard time with those... :)
Have a great week!

We used to have bagged milk when I was a kid - I remember the special pitchers we had to get to hold the bag. Wow, I hadn't thought of that in years!

I've not ever seen milk in a bag before, but can see how it would make freezing it easier. I learn something everytime I visit signs, signs.
