Interesting! I didn't even know there was a Russian car named that. And now I read the comments and learned it stands for something else anyway. Learning through blogging!
Nope...we didn't sit on the porch. It was the Bed and Breakfast. A precious place with beautiful flowers. We did giggle lots...a 30 something playing with a 70 something...we made quite the pair. Nice license plate, but I would not have know it was Russian. genie
These are cool signs! I would definitely want some like these for my business! Can you tell me where to find more like this? I have been looking into signs toronto and what they offer! Thanks again for sharing!
Not being fluent in Russian, I'll take your word for it! ;-)

I'm assuming that this plate was attached to a Mazda! otherwise, I'd have no idea what it meant!
ReplyDeleteI Google Mir Lada and came up with Mir Lada photographer. http://www.mirlada.com/toronto_photographer_photos_digital_imaging_retouching_portraits_photography_studio/
ReplyDeletewhy thank you for that, Andy!!
ReplyDeleteI took it far too literally -
Mir (Soviet space station) and
Lada (the Russian car)
so it's a vanity plate! I wonder if potential clients bother looking it up like you did, Andy.

ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting!!
I thought the same then Lesley. Very interesting what Andy found!
ReplyDeleteA Lada was not a car one would normally admit to owning - even Skoda owners looked down on Ladas.
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting story behind the numberplate! I had no idea about Ladas anyway, so this numberplate would have just been a mystery to me!

ReplyDeleteInteresting! But I've heard some rather embarrassing stories about Ladas...
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting.
I'm not familiar with lada's, but this is a fully plate.
ReplyDeleteohhh, i wouldn't have thought, glad you pieced it together!
ReplyDeleteHow appropriate that it could be a photograper's plate!
