I believe I read that it is 700 tonnes.
and almost 22 feet across and 20 feet high

MB: good question!
the stone is local and represents the area where this satellite campus is located.
and according to one source I found, it also "pays tribute to the principal of [Erindale College - the former name of the school] who was a geophysicist and geologist who made a major contribution to the development of tectonics theory."
